Walton House Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The upper section has a cornice above two fifteen pane astragal glazed doors, opening to three mahogany faced adjustable shleves. In the base section, the deep Secretaire drawer which retains the original brass pulls, opens to a well fitted interior with an arrangement of five fiddle back mahogany faced drawers with turned ivory pulls and eight satinwood faced pigion holes and a baize writing surface. Below are two panelled doors which open to reveal three mahogany faced and oak lined pull out slides. The bookcase stands on the original of set shaped bracket feet and transports in three pieces.
