Edwardian Silver Vesta Case London 1903

An exquisite early Edwardian, solid silver Vesta case, rectangular in shape, but wider than the usual rectangular cases. Beautifully engraved with an attractive scroll decoration to both the front and back, with a nice plain polished corner either side. Hinged on one side the lid opens and closes perfectly, and there is a loop for fastening attached to one side. The case has clear hallmarks visible on the inside lip for the Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1903 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith''s maker''s mark for Jones & Compton.
 
 
 
Lovely proportions, feels nice and solid to hold in the hand.
