Unusual Ribbed Silver Vesta Birmingham 1893

A superb and very stylish VIctorian solid silver Vesta case with a wonderful and unusual finish to both the front and back, being an unusual ribbed design. There is loop to the top of the lid for attachment to a fob or chatalaine. When opened clear hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the Vesta for the Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1893 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith''s maker''s mark for Mitchell Bosley & Co The interior has a gilt finish and the lid closes with a nice firm click.
 
This Vesta is very tactile and feels nice to hold in the hand and is a good heavy gauge silver.
 
Definitely a collector''s item due to the wonderful unusual design to the silver and the lovely collector''s antique condition. Finest quality associated with a fine maker - the craftmanship is evident!
