An excellent quality George III mahogany secretaire-bookcase.

A very elegant good quality item.
Having two adjustable shelves. With the original brass flush bolt locks to the left door, and original working lock and key to the right door.

The secretaire section has the original working lock and key, which pulls out and opens to reveal a high quality fitted interior, with an arrangement of eight drawers, with a very charming central small door, flanked by six pigeon holes. The drawer and little door fronts have lovely rich flame figuring to the mahogany.

This is over a chest of three long oak lined drawers, with original locks and escutcheons.
Retaining the lovely original handmade glass to the bookcase.
Such clever design and great craftsmanship from the Georgian era, a bookcase, a desk and a chest of drawers all in one piece.

Lovely patination and warmth to the mahogany.
Standing on bracket feet.
The top section can be removed from the base section.
In excellent antique condition.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
