Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
With a moulded cornice above two glazed doors with key with working lock and the interior is later painted and has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has two drawers above two cupboard doors with raised arched panels and the interior has one fixed shelf and the piece as a whole stands on a plain plinth and splits into two sections for easy removal. The mahogany has aged to a warm mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
