Mid Victorian Burr Walnut Deep Open Bookcase

19th century
Description

Circa 1870, mid Victorian burr walnut deep open bookcase (adapted). With carved back rail and geometric scrolling in burr, continuing down the front and sides, it has two sections with adjustable shelves (internally painted in duck egg blue) and with burr walnut facings. To each end is a foliate carving pattern, leading on to an enclosed burr plinth with a breakout section beneath the pilasters. Could also be used as a sideboard with its depth.
