The top with flared cornice and applied motif " By nature comes to read and write " ,has two leaded glass doors with heart motifs and fabulous large copper hinges opening to adjustable shelved interior, the base with leather writing surface, large drawer and shelved cupboard, again with large copper hinges and lovely stylised copper handles.
with general marks / scuffs commensurate with age and use, some ink stains to the writing surface and a crack to one of the small heart shaped glasses ( not obvious nor detracting from the look of the piece in any way ) overall, this eye catching bookcase oozes charm and character and really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
