William IV Silver Sherry Decanter Label London 1832

A charming, early antique, solid silver Sherry decanter label with attached chain. Lovely repousse work featuring a leopard''s head at the top and grape vines around the centre where ''Sherry'' is neatly engraved. Clear hallmarks are visible on the back of the label for The London Assay Office with a date mark for 1832 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver and the maker''s marks for Edward Stammers.
 
A wonderful early label, showing exceptional craftmanship by the silversmith!
