Victorian IVy Carved Oak Library Bookcase

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Antique Furniture Company

A beautiful Victorian four door library bookcase with carved panels of climbing ivy and a parquetry veneered top. It has carved mouldings to the four glazed doors, two imitation drawers and four fielded panel doors below. Fitted with wooden knob handles, brass catches and locks this attractive bookcase stands on a plinth base.

With four adjustable pine shelves to each side of the top and one to each of the cupboards below this bookcase can house a large 44ft 9in (13.65m) run of books. In good condition, even the inside of the door frames have been finished with quarter sawn oak veneer. There is replacement handle on one base door which does not detract from the overall look and as should be expected there are marks consistent with age and use. This bookcase would blend in well with the Greenman style of furniture.
