Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The silver blade of the knife is beautifully engraved with pretty leaves and the collar is embossed with a leaf design. Clear hallmarks are visible on the blade for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1881. The Lion Passant is also visible along with the maker's marks for Roberts & Belk.

This a a particularly handsome, yet practical piece.
