Unusual Silver Wishbone Form Sugar Tongs Birmingham 1911

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A fine pair of solid silver sugar tongs in the unusual form of a wishbone. The tongs work by the use of a spring action to the top part of one of the wishbone sides. They are lovely and tactile and a good neat size. Clear hallmarks are visible on the top of the tongs for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1911 and maker''s marks for the renown maker: Levi & Salaman. The Lion Passant indicating sterling silver is also visible. Part hallmarks can also be seen on the end of the flexible side of the wishbone.

Condition: The wishbone tongs are in great antique condition. The flexible sprung side works perfectly.
