Edwardian Silver Trinket Box Birmingham 1910

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A very pretty early Edwardian circular shaped, solid silver trinket box of lovely proportions and standing on three paw feet. The fine quality of the silversmith is evident in the fine engraving featuring swags and bows to the lid and the lovely shape of the box. The lid is nicely hinged on one side and lifts to reveal a gilt washed interior which is a delicate pale lemon colour. There is a small material pad that sits in the base. Hallmarks are visible on the side of the trinket box (although slightly worn these are still distinguishable) for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1910, along with The Lion Passant, indicating sterling silver. The Lion Passant and date mark are also clearly visible on the side of the lid. The maker''s mark is for A&J Zimmerman.

Condition: This Trinket Box is in good antique condition. There are some very slight dents to the side of the box and a tiny dent to centre of the lid, commensurate with age and mentioned for accuracy...
