Silver Vesta Case Birmingham 1903 By Arthur Cooke

An exquisite Edwardian, solid silver Vesta case, beautifully engraved with lovely swirling patterns to both the front and back, with a lovely shaped vacant cartouch in one corner. Hinged on one side the lid opens and closes perfectly and there is a good fastening loop on the top of the lid. The case has a gilt inside and clear hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the vesta for the Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1903 and the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silversmith''s maker''s mark for Arthur Cooke.
