Pair Of Art Deco Silver Pepper Pots Birmingham 1934

An iconic art deco pair of solid silver peppers. Lovely design so typical of the period. The lower part of the peppers is simple polished silver with the top portion graduating to a narrowing diameter opening and encompassed with three rings. The tops pull off nicely , are perforated and each has a neat finial. Very clear hallmarks are visible on both the bases and the inside lip of the tops for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1934 and the Lion Passant to indicate sterling silver. The maker''s mark is for the finest quality makers: Adie Brothers Limited.
