Edwardian Silver Mustard Pot Birmingham 1905 With Matched Spoon

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A very fine, Edwardian sterling silver mustard pot of lovely proportions, complete with blue glass liner. Oval in shape, this pot has a charming pierced pattern around the body, with a good solid lid and pretty handle for opening that is hinged and works as a lever, with an attractive loop handle on the side.

The hallmarks on the base of the pot are clearly visible for The Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1905 along with the maker''s mark for Marples & Co. (There is a number stamped on the base - probably a jeweller''s number or pattern reference).

This mustard comes with a most attractive spoon with hallmarks on the back of the spoon bowl for Birmingham with a date mark for 1904. (the spoon does have maker''s marks however, the first letter is slightly rubbed).

Condition: The mustard pot is in great antique condition as is the spoon (the spoon handle is very slightly bumpy and this is mentioned for accuracy only).
