Victorian Burr Walnut Two Door Bookcase

Description

Circa 1860, Victorian burr walnut two door bookcase. The bookcase has 4 adjustable shelves. It features a breakfront section on the cornice, with three carved pilasters beneath. The top has carved cartouche-shaped walnut two doors with arches, between this is a carved section of walnut. The front has two carved corbels with flowers beneath, followed by a flat section of burr walnut, with an ogee mould and 2 narrow drawers. The drawers have carved edges with beading, and stylish locks and escutcheons. The bottom section has 2 cupboards with fielded panel doors with multiple mouldings. Inside is a single adjustable shelf. Between these doors are 3 flat pilasters, with the whole piece standing on a raised, enclosed plinth of grain walnut. This finish is similar to the sides, gables and top. It is in excellent colour and condition.
