Each side has unusual applied carvings and the bookcase stands on a figured moulded plinth. It is very unusual to find a large open bookcase in burr walnut from this period and it comes with the beautiful charm and character, you can only see with genuine antiques. The walnut has aged to a golden shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
