A good quality Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase dating from circa 1820 and constructed from good quality figured mahogany with solid ebony beading throughout.. The upper section having a cornice above two 15 pane astragal glazed doors, the interior with 3 mahogany faced adjustable shelves and working lock and key. The base section having a deep secretaire drawer which retains the original brass pulls and opens to a well fitted interior with an arrangement of 5 fiddle back mahogany faced drawers with turned ivory pulls and 8 satinwood faced pigeon holes and a baize writing surface. Below are 2 panelled doors which open to reveal 3 mahogany faced and oak lined pull out slides and the whole stands on the original off set shaped bracket feet.
