Description

A rare and unusual Victorian, solid silver Vesta case in the form of a working whistle. One end of the Vesta is hinged and opens and the other end is the whistle. The striker is on the top of the lid. The hallmarks and maker's marks are visible on the back of the Vesta and also on the opening lid (see photos): London 1881 by Thomas Johnson.

CONDITION (see photos):

In great used condition. (There is one tiny dent to the silver on one edge of the Vesta, this is mentioned for accuracy only and commensurate with age). The hinged lid works perfectly.
