Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
With a moulded curved cornice above two glazed doors with moulded edges, original brass handle and key with working lock and the interior has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top with rounded corners above two mahogany lined drawers with the original brass handles. The two cupboard doors have striking figured arched raised fielded panels and the interior has one adjustable shelf. The piece as a whole stands on a rounded plinth and splits into two sections for easy removal. The mahogany has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
