Here we have a fine quality Victorian Mahogany chiffonier bookcase by R Crook 50 Boutport Street Barnstaple c1840. As you can see the bookcase has super colour and patina. There is a beautiful top section with scroll supports, two shelves and a pierced gallery top. The top of the lower section has super grain and colour. There is a thumb moulded edge with two drawers below. The drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and solid Mahogany linings. The original blue paper lining is in place on the base of both drawers and is stamped with the maker R Crook of 50 Boutport Street Barnstaple. Below the drawers are two cupboard doors with stunning flame Mahogany panels. The doors open to reveal a shelved interior. The base sits on original turned feet. A stunning period and rare bookcase from this maker in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 66 inches high 17.5 deep and 44 wide.
