A late 19th century fine quality ormolu, gilt metal and carrara marble candelabra with provision for 3 candles. A white marble plinth supports a column with ormolu and fluted terminal.

This late 19th-century French Empire style candelabra combines cut crystal, gilt brass, and white marble, presenting a clear and gold colour palette. The piece takes the form of a three-tier waterfall featuring cascading glass droplets, rope-twist branches, and three scrolling arms with provision for three candles, all surmounted by a crescent moon finial. The structure sits on a square marble plinth supporting a turned column with fluted terminal details and gilded mounts. Measuring 43 cm high, 33 cm wide, and 33 cm deep, this item functions well as a striking decorative accessory on a sideboard top in a dining room or drawing room today.

A waterfall candelabra features multiple tiered concentric metal wire arms hung with faceted glass or crystal drops, creating a cascading fountain effect designed to reflect candlelight.

Traditional pieces combine hand-cut lead crystal prisms mounted on gilt brass or bronze frames, often anchored by solid marble or alabaster plinths for stability.

Authentic period examples feature hand-cut crystal drops linked with hand-bent wire pins, irregular facet cuts, square-cut threaded brass fitments, and natural veining in the stone base.

Designers position these statement pieces on a sideboard, dining table centre, or fireplace mantel to add reflective structure and classical symmetry against contemporary backgrounds.

Dust individual crystal drops gently using a microfibre cloth, avoid harsh chemical solvents on gilt metal surfaces, and clean marble bases using only dry or slightly damp soft cloths.
