This Quality Large Glazed Victorian Antique Mahogany Bookcase circa, 1870 has a moulded cornice above three glazed doors with moulded edges and key with working lock with small turned handles and quality carved corbels.
The lower section has two beautifully figured carved frieze drawers, two cupboard doors with key with working lock, all with spectacular shield shaped flamed mahogany panels and carved corbels. This splendid bookcase stands on a plain plinth and splits into two sections for easy removal. The mahogany has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
