Silver Vesta Case with Heart Cartouche Chester 1915, by J & R Griffin. Njl10267

An exceptionally fine solid silver Vesta case with a gilt interior. The case is beautifully engraved, both front and back. with swirling leaf design and in the centre is a heart cartouch. Adding to the attractiveness of the case, is the sligthly concave back. Hinged on the right, the Vesta has a small lip on the left to enable ease of opening. There is a hoop attachment on the top of the lid. Clear and crisp hallmarks are clearly visible on the back of the lid and also full hallmarks and maker's marks appear on the inside and can be seen when the lid is lifted: Chester 1915, by the maker Joseph & Richard Griffin.
