Rare Pair of Quality Victorian Figured Mahogany Antique Library Bookcases

This Rare Pair of Quality Victorian Figured Mahogany Antique Library Bookcases, ca 1850 are truly unique due to the fact that it is so unusual to find a matching pair. They each have a deep moulded cornice above two glazed doors and magnificent quality carved corbels. Each interior has three adjustable shelves with the original / early leather trim. The lower section has a two beautifully figured cupboard doors with arched mouldings and key with working locks and each interior has one removable shelf, again with matching leather trim. This sensational pair stands on a moulded plinth and each one splits into two sections for easy removal. The mahogany has aged to a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
