Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
This is a very fine, large and solid cut glass inkwell with a solid silver top, that is hinged. The silver top bears clear maker’s mark for Nathan & Hayes and hallmarks for Chester, 1902. The top closes firmly. Sitting on four glass legs, with nicely patterned cut glass base.
Condition (see photos): very good with just a little tarnishing to the silver.
Dimensions: 115 mm (height) x 77 mm (height) approx.
Weight: 517 grams approx.
