Dating from around 1890 in the Victorian period, this Spectacular Quality Teak Arts And Crafts Antique Glazed Bookcase On Cupboard has a moulded cornice above two glazed doors with brass handles and key with working lock. The sides are beautifully reeded and the interior comprises of three adjustable shelves.
The spectacular brass handles have been embossed with the letters E T C, and appears as if it could have some Military history, as this amazing bookcase splits into several sections for easy removal probably for travel purposes. The two cupboard doors have moulded edges with central raised fielded panels and again have the key with working lock. The interior comprises of a fixed shelf, sliding linen tray and cellaret drawer. This remarkable antique stands on shaped bracket feet and benefits from the original teak backboards assuring true quality. The teak has aged to a warm / golden shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
