Pair of Chippendale Style Bookcases by Waring & Gillow C.1905.

Description

Exceptional pair of Edwardian mahogany bookcases by the celebrated British cabinet makers Waring & Gillow c.1905. Carved decoration the manner of Thomas Chippendale with a Greek key pattern cornice over blind fretwork, astragal glazed doors with a lower panel featuring classical urn and swags, flanked with an unusual carved column detail. Panelled rear and scratch carved ‘tramlines’ to the sides. Three adjustable shelves to each bookcase. Scratches to the glass on one bookcase, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. With original locks. Keys supplied.

Dimensions: width 54", depth 13½", height 56".
