Superb Quality Large Victorian Figured Mahogany Antique Bookcase

This Superb Quality Large Victorian Figured mahogany Antique Bookcase ca, 1860 has a lovely curved cornice above two glazed doors with arched mouldings and key with working lock. Each corner has fine quality scrolled carved corbels. Both interiors have three adjustable shelves. The lower section of this wonderful bookcase is waist height displaying the pure quality and elegance of this antique, it has a rectangular moulded top above two beautifully figured cupboard doors with moulded edges and key with working lock. Each interior has two removable shelves and it stands on a plain plinth and has beautifully moulded scrolled sides, it also splits into two sections for easy removal. The mahogany has aged to a mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
