Bookcase Magnificent Arts and Crafts Gothic Revival Oak Carved Bookcase C1900

Here we have an exceptional Victorian Arts and Crafts carved Oak Gothic revival bookcase c1900. As you can see the bookcase has wonderful colour and patina. The carving throughout this bookcase is of outstanding quality. The top frieze has wonderful Gothic tracery. The sides have perfectly executed linen fold panels top middle and bottom all carved in relief. The front sides have a carved Monk at each end again exquisitely carved with amazing detail down to Rosary beads and toes. There are carved spiral columns below the Monks leading to the separate base. The spiral columns are replicated on the sides of the base. The base is forward of the top giving excellent cupboard storage space. The doors once again are fantastically well carved with Gothic tracery. The doors retain their hand forged strap hinges and beatiful Pugin influenced handles. All three doors have working original locks and keys. A truly magnificent bookcase in excellent retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 91 inches wide 65 high 13 deep (top) 21 deep (base).
