An unusual solid silver ovoid vesta case. Assayed in Birmingham in 1905, this lovely item bears the makers mark of William J Holmes.
Beautifully presented in excellent condition, the sides have been ornately engraved and feature a vacant cartouche on one side. The lid opens perfectly and closes with a reassuring ‘click’. The bottom of the case is ribbed to allow easy striking of the matches this case was designed to hold.
Weighing approximately 15g and standing 3.5cm high x 2.7cm wide this would make a fabulous gift for someone who appreciates vesta cases or maybe to add to your own silver collection?
