Grand Victorian Mahogany Antique Open Bookcase on Cupboard

This Grand Victorian Antique Open Bookcase on Cupboard dates from ca. 1870 and has been constructed from beautiful figured mahogany timbers. It has a moulded cornice above three adjustable shelves and framed with moulded edges. The cupboard section has a moulded top above two beautifully figured doors, with moulded edges, key and working lock. The lower interior has one fixed shelf. The sides are moulded and the piece sits on an inverted breakfront plinth. This fine quality bookcase has benefitted with early restoration making it a very desirable and useful size and it splits into two sections for ease of removals. It is a rich mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
