Description

Tall Victorian Solid Oak Antique Open Bookcase

Dating from ca. 1890 this Tall Victorian Solid Oak Antique Open Bookcase has a figured rectangular top with canted edges, sitting above three adjustable shelves and stands on a plain plinth, still retaining the original back boards. The quality of timber used and workmanship, with the simple styling makes this a perfect example of an Arts & Crafts piece of antique furniture. The oak has aged to a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

Approximate dimensions are:

Height: 152 cm / 60 inches

Width: 112 cm / 44 inches

Depth: 30 cm / 12 inches
