Victorian Pollard Oak Bookcase. Makers Stamp. C. 1880

Description

Very nice size Victorian pollard oak and ebonised bookcase by MARSDEN and HANNING of MANCHESTER. Requires a good clean and wax up and some of the ebonised mouldings tidied up.

Two part bookcase, the bottom section with cupboard doors with two drawers above. Some scratch carved decoration, the doors with ebonised mouldings and a large turned patera to the middle.

The top section which is nice and low with simple glazed doors, decorated with ebonised mouldings and turned patera. Shelves are fully adjustable.

Makers name stamped on the right hand drawer top edge.

SIZE; 51" wide by 22" from front to back by 68" high overall
