This wonderful carved French carved oak bookcase is offered in very good condition.
The bookcase comprises of a carved oak glazed bookcase top with a carved oak frieze with carved floral designs and an impressive carved motif. The doors retain their original period glass the top has adjustable shelves. The top has carved turned oak columns with intricate carving either side of the doors.
The top has a central section with superb carving and turned finials, and a carved back panel.
The base has 2 carved drawers with 2 carved doors, the carving is very good with the motif also on the doors.
The base also has the carved columns and a carved cornice style base.
The base had plenty of storage and a central shelf.
The cabinet has been burnished, rewaxed and highly polished.
