Pair of Chippendale Style Mahogany Open Bookcases

Description

Circa 1910, pair of Chippendale style mahogany open bookcases. The solid mahogany rectangular tops have a moulded edge above a frieze with blind fretwork mesh design. Beneath this is a double beaded moulding. On either side are flat ribbed pilasters. Each of the bookcases has 3 adjustable shelves with a nice moulded fore edge. The shelves are held in place by brass studs. On the bottom is a moulding similar to that on the top and the bookcases stand on bracket feet. Unusual to get a good pair of bookcases in this size.

Size 109cm high x 122cm wide x 33cm deep.
