Quality Arts & Crafts Antique Walnut Bookcase

This Victorian antique walnut bookcase is of super quality and typical of the Arts and Crafts movement, circa 1890. It has a moulded cornice above several adjustable open shelves with dust flaps (a sure sign of quality and craftsmanship) and central open space for prized ornament! The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above two walnut lined drawers with moulded edges and original brass handles. The cupboard doors display beautifully figured panels and moulded edges, while each interior contains a single removable shelf. The piece stands on a moulded plinth and splits into two sections for ease of removal. The walnut is a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
