A George 111 painted pine library bookcase c 1790

A wonderful Adam period painted pine library bookcase c 1790 with traces of the original white paint to the exterior and retaining the original lichen paint to the interior shelf fronts. This rare bookcase has extremely elegant oval astragal glazed sliding doors retaining the original thin hand blown glass to the upper section; the lower section has the same arrangement of sliding panel doors revealing an adjustable shelved interior.

Provenance : The Library Sudeley Castle Gloucestershire.

Size 67 ins wide 99 ins high 18 ins deep.
