Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1900s.
With two of the original makers labels this stacking bookcase is made up of four display sections in total. Each section having a glazed door that lifts and slides back using the original brass handle. It has a simple moulded top and is finished with a shaped moulded plinth. As one would expect, due to its design, it is relatively easy to move as it can be split into a total of six sections. The oak has aged to a rich warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
