Large Victorian Walnut Arts & Crafts Glazed Antique Bookcase.

This Arts & Crafts glazed bookcase is constructed from walnut and dates from around 1890. The moulded cornice has a deep frieze with reeded detailing and sits above two glazed doors which front an interior that contain three adjustable shelves. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above a frieze drawer with beautiful pierced brass handles. Below this can be found two cupboard doors with beautifully moulded figured panels. The interior of the cupboard has a single removable shelf. The whole bookcase has attractive reeded detailing, stands on shaped feet and comes with the usual old repairs consistent with age and use, giving great character and lovely charm, expected with a piece over 100 years of age. It splits into three sections and has aged to light medium shade of walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
