The Antique Furniture Company has dated this piece to the 1800s.
There is a key for the lock which has been replaced and the escutcheon is gone.

The base section has an arched fielded panel door and stands on the plinth base. It has the original lock, a brass escutchon and a key, the interior does have holes for shelf supports if you wanted to add a shelf.

The top and base of this bookcase are original to each other and was possibly once part of a larger bookcase.
Condition:
This is in structurally good condition with no loose joints. There is a small chip to the right corner of the frieze (so high up it is not very noticeable), there is a chip out the bottom left corner of the glass door frame and another chip to the top right corner of the base door. The top surface of the base section has white marks, the sides have nibbles out the veneer to the edges, joins to the veneer and the plinth is scuffed. It would benefit from being polished and has been priced accordingly.
