A Regency Pale Mahogany and Ebony Inlaid Bookcase Attributed to George Oakley.

This well proportioned piece is beautifully and decoratively inlaid with ebony stringing, stars and crosses. This bookcase retains its original locks and shelves and is in fine sympathetically restored condition.

George Oakley (1760-1841), was a Bond Street cabinet maker whose 'Manufactory and Magazine for fashionable Furniture' was patronised by George IV, then Prince Regent.

1020 mm wide, 495 mm deep and 1690 mm high. Circa 1820
