George III Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase

Description

A good quality early 19th century George III period mahogany SECRETAIRE-BOOKCASE in excellent condition. Of compact size, the upper bookcase section features "Gothic" style glazing bars to the doors which open to reveal 3 adjustable shelves, making four in all.

Below, the well-fitted secretaire drawer has seven small oak-lined drawers and various pigeonholes, whilst further below are three long mahogany-lined graduated drawers, all with their original brass handles.

It stands on "French" swept bracket feet and measures 7ft tall and just over 3ft wide. A pretty and very useful Drawing Room cabinet.
