Heavy Chinese Hardwood (Padouk) Standard Lamp

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are pleased to offer this very heavy solid Chinese hardwood standard lamp , probably padouk or a similar heavy hardwood , the chunky upright is deeply carved throughout with prunus blossom decoration , the circular base is also carved and pegged into it are the three decorative central pole supports.

The condition is ready for immediate use , there are a couple of stable old cracks, and a bow in the central pole which would not be a problem depending on which way in the room you turned it, a great quirky lamp standard that will last another 100+ years , just waiting for a shade of your choice !!
