A Fine William IV Mahogany Bookcase

19th century
Description

A fine quality William IV Mahogany Bookcase Cabinet, having a moulded cornice and upright supports, with 2 glazed doors fitted with a spring loaded Bramah lock and original key. Bramah locks are the highest quality locks produced in the 19th century and only found on high end pieces of furniture. The doors open to reveal 3 Mahogany fronted fully adjustable pegged shelves, retaining the orginal brass fixings. The bottom section having 2 figured Mahogany panelled doors also having the original Bramah lock and key, these open to reveal an adjustable shelf, the whole railed on a plinth base. Superb quality timber used thoughout in excellent original condition throughout. Circa 1830
