Set of 6 18th Century Silver Teaspoons Thomas Wallis 1765

Description

Direct to us from a local estate is this rare set of six mid 18th century old english teaspoons , they are in lovely clean condition with a monogrammed crest of a rampant lion on the handles , the hallmarks on the handles are simply a lion and initials TW ,together with an old receipt for purchase tell me that they were made in London in about 1765 by Thomas Wallis .

The receipt is for £165 and dated 1994 when silver was about £3 per oz instead of about £17 !

We have priced these to sell very quickly .
