Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Below the top section is a lovely shaped frieze and 2 crossbanded doors with their original mirrors. Inside opens to show 3 adjustable shelves on an oak carcass. Below the top is a shaped drawer which opens to reveal a secretaire interior which has birds eye maple drawers and a faux marble centre compartment. The inside has also been re-felted and is crossbanded. The section is shaped ogee with burr walnut panels. Below are 2 carved tapering columns and 2 doors with oval panels which are inlaid with burr walnut, above a lovely stylish apron. Very unusual piece of Dutch furniture in excellent condition.
