A simple but elegant open bookcase in Goncalo Alves wood stamped and labelled by Miles and Edwards, 134 Oxford St, London an important firm of cabinet makers taken over 1844 by Charles Hindley & Sons. Edwards may be later connected to Edwards & Roberts, circa 1840.
