Very Handsome Glazed Victorian Inlaid Bookcase or Display Cabinet.

Description

A striking and unusual 19th century Victorian original glazed ebonised bookcase or display cabinet with inlaid borders of burr walnut outlined with boxwood stringing, three accent geometric design marquetry mixed wood blocks, and embellished with discrete ormolu trim band and swags.

The two glazed doors with original glass open to reveal the original lining and shelves, suitable to store and display books and/or collectables.

The whole stands on turned feet.

With original working lock and key.

Size-35.75 inches wide by 11.5 inches deep by 41 3/8 inches high.

A great size to hold many books or collectables, but not too large for modern homes.

Inside depth-8.25 inches at most narrow point where door edge swings in when fully open.

A very handsome and original piece, and most functional to use in a study, living room, hall or any room.
