It was listed by Castleforge Antiques Ltd. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Castleforge Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The base has a moulded edge to the top above a deep panelled drawer front with turned mahogany knob handles and which folds down to reveal a very nice interior with three drawers to each end joined by a carved frieze above four pigeon holes and further area for paperwork. It has its original baise writing surface which is certainly usable but has various ink stains (photos available on request) but we feel this just adds to its charm and authenticity. The desk sits above two panelled doors with carved corbal supports to either side and with internal shelf. It stands on a deep plinth base and separates for ease of transporting.

Measures: 77" high X 36" high to top of base X 19" deep X internal depth 10" (top) X 45" wide
In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the quality mahogany oozing all the charm and character of the period.
